I'm an idiot and other stuff

I know why people stopped coming to my blog, (I stopped posting) yeah there's that but it looks like a hospital. At first I liked the mild green, it was calming. Now I realize my blog looks like a room at a mental institution, jeez Jade, no wonder no one stops by. Ok so now you know why I'm an idiot...
On to the other stuff. I've been slammed with edits on both my new stories. Ok not so much slammed, but I have to do pre-edits on Out with the Undead (not a huge deal since I tried to do this before submitting, although I'm finding things that slipped by 0_0) and edits on Scarlet Angel. I have to do cover art for Scarlet Angel... that's not going well. I've got this idea of what I want yet just can't make it happen. Ya know, it's frustrating. Oh I'm an actual cover artist now for eXcessica, pretty cool. I was just doing it, now I've got the title Cover Artist.
Ok so it's not a big deal. Just something I can add to my list Jade Twilight: writer and cover artist. Wonder how that'd look on a resume...
So what else.... Yes if you're wondering I'm procrastinating. Once I'm done here I have to work on edit, wake the kids, get the oldest ready for school take her to the bus stop come back, and work on edits some more. I don't wanna do it. Over the weekend I spent an hour looking for the word That in my MS and changing or deleting it. I've still got like eight words to go, I'm dreading- but, and, his, her, & they.
Sigh well I guess it's time to go no rest for the wicked and yada yada.

Edits are time consuming. I get so stressed on my own edits, but I find it enjoyable to edit other people's work.

Yes they are. Very time consuming. I hate doing edits, period.

Jade, ya ain't no idiot.

I always fall in love with my books once I finish the first draft. Then I take it to my writers' workshop and they tell me it sucks, or has this, that and the other thing wrong with it.

First reaction: Indignation. You philistines, can't you tell genius when you see it? I don't say that aloud, of course.

Second reaction: Oh my God, they're right. I'm a talentless moron. What am I doing pretending to be a writer? I'm a fraud!

Eventual reaction: Go through the comments, make the changes that make sense, reject the ones I feel strongly about. Submit.

You are a published author, and a good one. As a Christian I hate to use the pop cliche "Believe in yourself," but at least I can substitute "Believe that God has given you a real talent."

BPL-Thank you for your kind words.
I used to go through those reactions as well. Even with editors. I'd yell at the computer lol. But then cool off go back, see they were right and fix stuff. Now I try to remember that my editors, crit group etc are trying to help me.

Great title for a blog, sure made me want to look. Oh dear -- edits. That's why I keep my hair long, it'll take longer before I get bald. lol Congrats on the cover artist gig. That's so cool. And good luck with the edits.
