No Longer Writing.

For those who might have been wondering I'm no longer writing, for profit. I'm spending my time focusing on my family and running a small book blog. Which I won't reveal because I run it under my real name and don't want it linked with this one or my pen-name. After dealing with a lot of crap from someone, which I won't get into, I gave up.
Suffice it to say I wasn't happy with where my life was going. How I was living it or what it was doing to my family. I fell into a bad depression and I can finally see the light as the end of a very long, stupid, and dark tunnel. That light is my kids, and husband. I don't feel the need to write like I used to. Perhaps I've managed to purge all the demons that haunted me, dogging me to write their stories. I don't know.
What I do know is that if I do start writing again it will be under a different name. Jade Twilight is no more. She has been used and abused by those she trusted and is tainted because of a certain person, who will remain nameless.
What I can tell you is I'm not the same person who wrote the works on that side bar. I probably never will be and never want to be.
A very close friend, who has seen me through all of my ups and downs, will be posting my works free and those contract, as they end or I see fit, up on smashwords for me. She's also volunteered to help me promote the few contracted works I have left.
For my parting words I have one request. Please DO NOT Purchase any of my works from Red Rose Publishing! The contracts for these have been up for sometime, I have not heard from the owner even though I have attempted to contact her. I've done everything needed to get my rights back per her contracts. Yet she ignores me so I beg you Do Not buy my books from her.
I wish to move on with my life, this part has been accomplished so now I'll see where the journey takes me next. Thank you to those of you who have purchased my books and to those of you who have supported me, authors and readers alike.

“Don’t make a sound, back up slowly, and keep you hands where we can see them.” Jamie swallowed as the guys got closer. They all wore black clothing. The one holding her at gunpoint wore a Red Sox baseball hat over his dirty blond hair. He also wore large black plastic sunglasses so she couldn’t see his eyes.

Raising her hands, Jamie did as she was told.

“Good girl.” Two other men followed them into the house.

The guy holding the gun half turned and spoke to the two behind him. Jamie took this opportunity to warn her sister. The twins were psychic and had always had a special connection. It had gotten them out of a lot of scrapes. Jamie hoped it would get them out of this one as well.

“Where are the kids?” He grinned. “We’re going to have a little pow-wow.”

She hesitated and he grabbed her arm, pulling her closer and pressing the barrel of the gun against her cheek. Jamie fought to keep herself calm. She wouldn’t be any good to the kids if she changed. It’d just make things worse, especially if these guys went dirty hairy and there were silver bullets in those guns.

“Aimee’s in her room upstairs and Ranger’s in the livingroom asleep on the couch.”

The man with the gun gestured to his accomplices. “Okay, go get the kid and check for anyone else.” The two goons headed for the stairs. As they did, the one holding her dragged her into the livingroom.

“Don’t worry. The cops are on their way.” Baylee’s voice whispered through her head.

The man holding her drew Jamie’s attention. “You know, if it wasn‘t against the rules, I‘d waste a little time with you. What’s your name?”

“Jamie,” she whispered, hoping they wouldn’t wake Ranger. “What do you want?”

Mac and Sean kicked in the door to the old rundown mansion. In the dim light a dog stood
growling, hackles raised, teeth bared. A shot rang out. The creature fell with a whimper and
resounding thud. The Pack filed cautiously into the entrance hall, flashlights flicking quickly from
one dark corner to another.
The dog unexpectedly leapt for the nearest man’s throat. He held the dog at bay with his gun
as it clamped down on to the barrel with its teeth.
“Get those lights in here!” someone shouted as the double doors at the end of the hall burst
open. A small group of about ten zombies shuffled toward them.
Bright halogen lights flooded the room. The dog crumpled to the floor, turning to dust. The
zombies shrank back as a few of the front members crumbled into a fine powder. The Pack opened
fire on the milling crowd. When the sound of the gun fire finally died away, the only thing left was
ashes. Piles littered the floor, small particles filtered through the air.
As it settled enough to see, the front four members of The Pack started forward again toward
the double doors with the lights close behind. Inside the room stood a young looking woman and
man. As the lights filled the room, the woman began to scream and smoke, as if on fire, then fell
to the floor writhing in pain. Several shots rang out, hitting the man standing beside her. He gave
them a loathsome look, then disappeared in a mist.
“Magee,” Mac called, pulling off his mask as the cleanup crew took over the scene.
“Yeah, Boss,” came a muffled woman’s voice from the back, by the front door.
“Get up here.”
Magee pushed through the cleanup crew to where Mac stood. The dust and smoke cleared.
A girl lay where the woman had been.
“So she was an old one.” Magee took off her mask and ran a gloved hand through her short,
spiky, copper-colored hair before pulling a hat over it.
“Yeah, so was the other one.” It always made Mac wonder why such a pretty little thing
would want to work for the council. Her classic Irish features, paired with her tall slender stature
made her more suited to modeling than chasing down renegade vamps, or in this case, Day Walkers.
Which could be worse: they were the older vampyres. The males were harder than hell to kill, and
the females turned into children when hit with halogen light or real sunlight.
The halogen lights, when using just a quartz bulb instead of a normal one, had the same
amount of ultraviolet light as sunlight. It was what actually killed the vampyres. Day Walkers,
however, had a bad habit of draining their victims, turning them into zombies. Thank God there
were only a few of them and they stayed underground, until lately.

Magee hefted her duffle bag and walked into the room. Slowly, she approached the little girl
curled up under the woman’s clothes.
“Sweetheart,” Magee said softly. The girl looked up at her. “Are you all right?”
“I want my mommy.” Tears streamed down the child’s cherubic face.
Magee knelt down, her knee settling on something small and hard. She raised her knee
slightly, picking up a small silver cross with a long silver chain. The girl began to cry harder. Magee
slipped the necklace into her bag and pulled out a blanket. She wrapped it around the girl, picking
her up, and then scooped up her bag.
“Hey, Mac, the van here yet?” she called, carrying the girl outside.
“Where’s my mommy?” The girl pulled her head away from Magee’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart, you’ll see her soon, okay?” Magee soothed, looking around for
Mac. She found him on the porch, smoking a cigarette. “Is the van here yet?”
“Yeah, just pulled in.” Mac pointed at a nondescript black van and walked toward it with
her. “Did you see that hell beast?” Mac glanced at Magee, and then looked at the girl. “I still think
it’s the strangest thing that they revert to human children when the lights hit them.”
Magee sat the girl down in the back of the van. “Yeah,” she replied to both his question and
statement, before turning her attention to the girl. “Okay, hon, what’s your name?” Magee asked,
checking the girl’s vitals.
“Cara.”

Merging Wynter and this Blog

Behind the Scenes- Out with The Undead Part 1

Ok so I've never done this with any of my other books, but I'm going to talk about how Out with the Undead came to be. Why am I doing this with this book when I haven't any others? Well because this book is my baby. I've never really thought that way about any other books. While all my books have had a little of me in them this possibly has the most.
I started this book shortly after my daughter was born, she's 6 now. At the time I was dealing with horrible postpartum depression although I didn't realize it. But writing seemed to make everything better. I started two short stories, one was the story of Brigit and Liam. The other Regan- although I wasn't sure where it was going at the time. Most the time I just wrote letting the words flow I had no idea that these two shorts would combine or that there would be a third story. Later I got the idea to purge myself leading the the third story of Hunter.
Originally these had strange origins. Brigit came out as my mothering side, willing to put her life on hold for those she cared about. While Regan was my fun loving side, the side that had become buried while dealing family issues at the time. And finally Hunter was my past.

Hunter started out as a YA, this was way before the Twilight hype. She was seventeen in the first draft and the only love interest was Blayze. Yet he wasn't truly a love interest more of a friend. In that version things were much different and much much much tamer. When I decided to include it in Out with the Undead I upped her age and brought in both guys as love interests. Mostly because I'd grown fond of Julian as his character grew and took on a personality I hadn't expected. Now I should also point out I only wrote about a quarter of their story before adding it to the other two and I didn't consider add Julian as a love interest until the third draft. Yeah this had a lot of drafts.

That's all I have time to write today. I'll write more at a later date.

I haven't been able to post or do very much lately (read as the last couple months) due to family issues and working on my own personal pet projects. But I'm Back and going to try to put my best foot forward. I have a new book coming out around Sept. Here's the cover art...

It's a paranormal romance. Sorry no demons, but there's vampyres and werewolves galore. No I did not misspell vampire either, there is a method to my madness. Or at least that's what I had to keep telling my publisher. Anyway I'll have more on the book as the release date draws closer. I'm hoping to start posting excerpts and things more as well as maybe a contest or two. Who knows with me.
